ABOUT US
Travel Buenos Aires was founded in 2005 by Benjamin
and Tomoko Schwartz.
Benjamin is an American who has lived abroad for nine of the last ten years
of his life. He has always enjoyed working with the public. From driving
a bicycle taxi around the Baltimore Inner Harbor to giving guided tours
in a Costa Rica rainforest butterfly garden Benjamin was born to guide.
Last year he spent forty-nine days walking 1,200 km around the Japanese
island of Shikoku camping out every night in train stations,
mountain temples and on beaches. He decided he liked walking so much he
would continue his passion doing walking tours in Buenos Aires.
After a six month English course in Perth, Australia, Tomoko fell in love
with the idea of living abroad. She gave up a promising Tokyo legal career
to follow her dream of opening a tour company in Buenos Aires. Tomoko enjoys
walking, traveling, listening to music and sleeping.
Benjamin and Tomoko live in Barrio Norte with their cat Choco-chan.
Choco-chan is a young Siamese cat. She was the last of the litter, and
in spite of her convulsive, hyperactive behavior Benjamin and Tomoko were
smitten and brought her home to share living expenses. She enjoys running,
jumping, stalking, pouncing, destroying rolls of toilet paper, eating hand
towels, sleeping, and chasing her own tail. She is otherwise currently
unemployed. Miao!
